Village is More Global, Language is More Vital (by Marcin Skomial pp.151-153)

A Personal Response:

In what kinds of jobs other than those mentioned in the article do you think knowledge of more than one language would be useful? Why?
In my opinion, currently, every types of job do need knowledge of more than one language; however, it depends on the function of those jobs that the language is considered in very necessary or not. For example, you are working in the global company. Even though your job function doesn’t seem using language that much, you have to know at least English language either to communicate with other colleagues in the different country or to reading and to understanding what the headquarter wants to say.

How do you think someone who speaks and writes more than one language well could take advantage of this ability?
Sure. Someone, who is good comprehensive more than one language take more advantages in real world. Because, nowadays, world is smaller. It’s not difficult to contact other from outside country particularly in work. Speaking and writing skill in different language are required as a basic skill for children. Whoever can’t both of speaking and writing is going to be a weak point in such a career.

Do you think it is a good idea to take a job that offers on-the-job training even if the pay is low in the beginning? Explain.
Yes, I do. It’s a good opportunity because of not everyone start with perfect condition, even though the pay is low in the beginning. Someone doesn’t take a job that offers on-the-job training just because he thinks that he can get a good job that give him a better pay. Finally, he wastes his time and can’t find so good job as he expects.
